The Imperial Fund Asset Management Team was delighted to sponsor our first appearance at the LATAM and Caribbean Retreat held by Markets Group.
The conference brought together asset managers and RIAs from all over the continent to connect.
Our team had a booth at the conference, which allowed us to discuss our firm with many of the attendees.
Our very own Dmitri Batsev held a roundtable explaining how to capitalize on private credit opportunities in the U.S. residential mortgage market.
Dmitri also made an on-stage appearance as a panelist, discussing strategies to build a strong fixed-income portfolio in current market contexts.
Here are three key takeaways from the conference:
Access to alternatives - Increasingly, RIAs are focusing on expanding their private market offerings to clients.
This reflects increasing sophistication amongst wealth management clients who are eager to identify new opportunities in a dovish rate environment.
U.S. optimism - Many attendees placed huge importance on U.S.-based investment products. This reflects continued faith in the US Markets to produce stable, reliable growth opportunities.
It was a pleasure for the team to learn about the different vehicles used to access US investment opportunities in Peru, Brazil, and other South American countries.
Origination ownership - One takeaway from the mentioned panel was the rapid growth of interest in the private credit industry.
In such an environment, asset managers with infrastructure to produce their own income-generating assets may have advantages compared to ones who instead purchase assets from third-party originators.
It was a productive 3 days, and we look forward to future attendance as we continue to engage investors from around the globe.
