Imperial Fund Asset Management executives Victor Kuznetsov and Dmitri Batsev were on the West Coast for meetings with partners and investors, as well as to attend IMN’s Non-QM Forum.
As part of the forum, Dmitri spoke on the panel “Insurers as Investors: Quiet Giants of the Non-QM Market,” discussing the growing role of insurers in Non-QM and residential mortgage credit.
The panel covered insurer demand amid rate volatility, access through direct whole loan purchases versus rated RMBS tranches, risk and liquidity management, NAIC capital treatment, and the different investment approaches of life and P&C insurers.
Dmitri also highlighted recent April developments and the increasing appetite from insurance companies for residential whole loans as part of the broader search for attractive risk-adjusted yield.
Thank you to IMN for hosting a timely and insightful discussion.
