Imperial Fund Asset Management, an SEC-registered investment adviser specializing in investment strategies across traditional asset classes and residential mortgage investments,
recently collaborated with students from the University of Miami Herbert Business School on a business technology project focused on real-world industry applications.
The initiative was designed to provide students with practical exposure to structured credit, securitization, and the operational and technological considerations
within the residential mortgage market.
"We're excited to collaborate with the University of Miami. Its graduates and students are known for being some of the brightest minds in the area, and we are super excited
to be working with this bright group of people," said Anya Gezunterman, Director at Imperial Fund Asset Management.
Over the course of the project, students worked alongside members of the Imperial Fund team and participated in discussions across multiple functional areas. The collaboration
concluded with final presentations held at the corporate headquarters of Imperial Fund and AD Mortgage in South Florida, where student teams presented their work and recommendations
to company professionals.
Over the course of the five-week program, students gained insight into how business strategy, technology, and financial analysis interact within a professional environment.
"I'm trying to go into the finance industry myself, so just being able to get into an office and really be a part of the community you guys have here for the last five weeks has been terrific.
It really helped us have a greater skeleton for what we need to do," said Dylan Prefontaine, an undergraduate student.
The collaboration also aligns with broader efforts by the University of Miami Herbert Business School to strengthen engagement between academic programs and industry practitioners.
"Our business school is on a mission to become a top-10 program within the next four years. One of the key criteria for making that happen is stronger collaboration with the industry — so we
understand your pain points, prepare students better in the classroom, and so that you understand what our capabilities are as a higher-education institution,"
said Dr. Alexander Korogodsky, Academic Program Director and Lecturer of Business Technology at Miami Herbert.
The initiative reflects Imperial Fund’s ongoing support for educational programs that provide students with exposure to careers in finance, consulting, and technology, while encouraging collaboration
between academia and industry professionals.
Imperial Fund appreciates the efforts and participation of the students and faculty involved in the project and looks forward to future collaboration opportunities with the University of Miami Herbert Business School.
